A rube-goldberg inspired machine that distributes the ingredients of Fortnum & Mason’s iconic ‘Knickerbocker Glory’ ice cream sundae.
Raspberry sauce is heated and rises to spiral around the copper structure, meanwhile the handle is turned to rotate a pineapple which peels off into a bowl beneath, crushing a meringe with it and slowly lowering the balloon on top. The dessert is complete when the scorching raspberry sauce shoots out into the bowl, and the balloon bursts onto the sharp spike on top of the structure to release a dusting of icing sugar everywhere.
